Painting the divide: Richie Culver on his new exhibition at Humber Street Gallery

Richie Culver

Richie offers up a unique perspective on contemporary British culture in his new exhibition ‘No one knows me like Dawn from the Jobcentre’.

Born in Hull and now based in the south, Richie Culver has a flourishing career as a contemporary painter. Producing autobiographical work, his paintings on show now here at Humber Street Gallery delve into the complex relationship between jobseeker and benefits supervisor, and what happens in between these encounters.

His work feels acutely British and deals with topics that are increasingly relevant in today’s world. We caught up with Richie to learn a little more about this exhibition.

Catch No one knows me like Dawn from the Jobcentre in Gallery Two + Three until Sun 27 May.
